CDBG and Housing Rehabilitation Advisory Committee

The CDBG and Housing Rehabilitation Advisory Committee provides guidance on policy and programmatic issues to the Planning and Development Department staff. This committee reviews the proposals received each year for CDBG assistance and makes funding recommendations to the Mifflin County Board of Commissioners, as well as resolves program issues that require policy interpretation or policy revision.

Hazard Mitigation Steering Committee

The Hazard Mitigation Steering Committee was formed to oversee and assist in developing the Tri-County Hazard Mitigation Plan involving Mifflin, Juniata, and Perry Counties. This committee is being reorganized.

Internet Advisory Committee

The Mifflin County Internet Advisory Committee seeks to develop options and opportunities to improve broadband internet service in Mifflin County through a collaborative effort that includes residents, businesses, internet providers (Atlantic Broadband, Century Link, Comcast, Nittany Media, and Verizon), Mifflin County School District, local government, and Juniata County.  Effectively addressing both the existing and future telecommunications needs of the County is the central goal.

Microenterprise Advisory Committee

The Microenterprise Advisory Committee was formed collaboratively by Mifflin County, Derry Township, Granville Township, and Lewistown Borough to oversee and assist in administering the Microenterprise and Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund. This committee is inactive at this time.

Subdivision and Land Development Review Committee

The Subdivision and Land Development Review Committee reviews subdivision and land development plans and provides recommendations to the Mifflin County Planning Commission regarding approval of these plans. This committee meets monthly.
