The Public Defender represents individuals lacking sufficient funds to afford private counsel, who are charged with either misdemeanors or felonies. The Public Defender is also appointed to represent individuals charged with summary offenses who face incarceration, and juveniles who are charged with offenses under the crimes code. This office represents patients at the Lewistown Hospital who are committed for mental care and subject to the Mental Health Act.

Directions to this office from within the Courthouse:

Starting from main lobby, go right down the hallway.  The Public Defender's office is the last door on the right.
