What are General Protective Services?
The majority of reports that come to the attention of the children and youth agency involve non-serious injury or neglect. These cases are treated by the agency as general protective services cases. These cases can include inadequate shelter, food, clothing, health care, truancy, inappropriate discipline, lack of supervision, hygiene issues, abandonment or other problems that threaten a child's opportunity for healthy growth and development.
